About the Role
As Principal Procurement Officer at QLeave, you will lead procurement and contracts management for the organisation. Reporting to the Manager, Legal Services, you will drive strategic procurement projects and enhance procurement frameworks, policies, and procedures. Your leadership will ensure the effective management of tender processes, contract development, and compliance with Queensland Government contract management principles.
Your Responsibilities
**In this role, you will**:
Lead strategic procurement projects, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure transparency, risk management, and probity requirements are met.
Enhance procurement and contracts management frameworks, policies, and procedures to align with Queensland Procurement Policy.
Manage tender processes, including evaluation and establishment of contracts.
Deliver high-quality procurement advice and training on procurement planning, sourcing documentation, and contract administration.
Supervise the Senior Procurement Officer.
Administer contracts in accordance with Queensland Government Contract Management Framework principles.

We're seeking a dynamic and experienced procurement professional with the following skills and attributes:
Strong working knowledge of the Queensland Government's Procurement Framework, policies, and legislation.
Experience in procurement strategy, supplier selection, negotiation, contract development, and compliance management.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence, with a focus on achieving impactful outcomes.
A disciplined approach to process optimisation.
There are no mandatory qualifications for this role, although practical experience in a procurement function within the public sector or relevant procurement certification (e.g., Level 4 Procurement Certification or Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) qualification) is highly regarded.
