As Our Principal Procurement Officer, You Will
- Provide strategic and tactical analysis and procurement planning, category management, strategy development and implementation and the provision of expert
knowledge and advice to various internal stakeholders, including National Fire Ant Eradication Program business groups.
- Conduct and lead tender management from procurement planning through to contract award, contract management and administration, preparing procurement related correspondence, providing procurement advice to stakeholders and exercising a procurement authorisation.
- Initiating and project managing reviews of procurement systems and processes and identifying strategies for improvement to ensure an efficient and effective
procurement function.
- Provide advice and structured support for routine sourcing activities undertaken by the Program, including contingent labour engagements.
- Collaboratively develop and maintain appropriate governance and audit business requirements with DPI procurement.
- Ensure a culture of service delivery and high performance that recognises the unique contribution of the individual, encourages personal and team development, and encourages an appropriate work/life balance.
- Lead, mentor, coach, and train staff in their development to ensure the necessary skills and motivation exist to respond to service delivery requirements and perform to
a high level of skill and expertise.
- Contribute to divisional business planning and resource prioritisation processes
- Provide objective, professional input to the development of departmental procurement policies, systems and procedures.
- Influence the capability and profile of procurement with the NFAEP and contribute to the development of knowledge and expertise of purchasing staff in the delivery of effective procurement practices.
- Other duties as directed as required
You may also have
- Though not mandatory it would be highly regarded -
- Level 3 Queensland Government Procurement Certification (Diploma in Government - Procurement and Contracting)
- Knowledge and experience in applying Procurement related policies, procedures
or Frameworks preferably in a government and or public sector environment.
- Experience in SAP highly desirable

Licences and registrations
- Current unrestricted C' class drivers licence
