**Deputy Group Company Secretary**

The primary purpose of this role is to lead, inspire and develop a high performing customer focussed team, which delivers high quality Board and Secretariat services and corporate governance advice. In doing so, the role will work closely with the Senior Management Team and the Group’s Boards (Board) and Committees.
**What are you going to do?**
- Develop and implement long-term strategies to ensure the provision of fit-for-purpose, and best practice Group Secretariat services by assisting the Group Company Secretary.
- Ensure alignment of strategy to overall Corporate Governance objectives.
- Provide visibility to, and clarity of, strategy to key stakeholders, including any team members, to ensure they have a clear vision of the team’s purpose.
- Support the implementation of the CGL Strategy while maintaining services at an appropriate level during implementation, in partnership with the Group Company Secretary.
- Assist the Group Company Secretary to drive overall accountability for the achievement of operational excellence in Secretariat function.
- Lead key Secretariat projects as required each year, ensuring a relentless focus on simplicity, agility and strong risk management.
- Establish deep and effective relationships with business partners and peers to understand their business drivers and strategic priorities; particularly, the Managing Director, Directors, members of Senior Management Team and executives.
- Assist the Group Company Secretary in influencing the shape of the Board agenda and rhythms to assist in delivering on business drivers and strategic priorities.
- Contribute to establishing a capability development strategy for the Secretariat team to ensure a fit and future-ready team.
- Manage resources and other Secretariat team activities, within budget and manage the Directors budget.
- Contribute to high performance culture and building and sustaining a highly effective, collaborative Secretariat team (through, amongst other things, meaningful coaching, feedback and development opportunities).
**What will you bring to the table?**
- Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance.
- Significant practical experience with corporate secretarial duties and Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders to establish strong professional relationships and influence outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.
- Pays high attention to detail by completing tasks with thoroughness and accuracy and can quickly identify errors or inconsistencies within information.
- Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
