**Role Description/Criteria**
**CONTEXT**:
Resurrection Catholic Primary School provides a contemporary Catholic primary education for children within the Resurrection Catholic Parish, Kings Park.

**ROLE DESCRIPTION**:
The Learning Diversity Leader is ultimately responsible to Principal and will have a close day-to day working relationship with Deputy Principal - Learning Pedagogy & Deputy Principal - School Organisation & Wellbeing, classroom teachers and Learning Support Officers (LSO’s).
The Learning Diversity Leader has the role of ensuring the smooth and efficient provision, and enhancement of Learning Diversity Education by teaching staff, students and the school community whilst enhancing and supporting the school’s Catholic culture and Faith. The Learning Diversity Leader supports the staff in implementation of the strategic directions of the school the School Improvement Plan and Annual Action Plan.
As a member of the school Leadership Team, the Learning Diversity Leader is expected to support the Principal in the leadership and management of the school and to actively support the Catholic teachings and ethos of the school. The Learning Diversity Leader will also be expected to work a longer school day than other teaching staff, to attend a number of school functions outside of normal school hours, including meetings and activities and events involving staff, students and their parents, and to attend planning and organisational meetings during school holidays as required.

The Learning Diversity Leader will work with the Principal and Leadership Team in co-ordinating and overseeing the following areas:

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:
1. Learning & Teaching
The Learning Diversity Leader develops, implements and monitors professional learning in the classroom, at staff meetings and domain meetings to ensure teacher capacity is enhanced in relation to:
- Appropriate adjustments to the curriculum / instructional practice including assessment and reporting that comply with required standards
- Effective scaffolding techniques to use in the classroom
- Using school data effectively to improve student outcomes
- Supporting staff in implementing appropriate adjustments for students with additional needs, including highly able students
- Providing feedback to staff on pedagogy and differentiated learning through regular classroom observations and modelling
- Supporting staff in the writing, implementation and evaluation of PLPs
- Reporting to a PLP
- Promoting and modelling quality teaching and learning that addresses diversity of learning and specific goals and targets.
- Identifying those with additional needs through formal and informal testing. This includes:
- Prior to Prep entry at
- Diagnostic testing as required
- Communicating information to staff / parents where necessary
- Attending Professional Development Courses / Workshops / Network Meetings to keep informed of teaching methods / available resources and support networks for students with additional needs
- Being involved in the schools Transition Programs in conjunction with the Level Team Leaders and Learning Pedagogy Leader
- Establishing and convening Program Support Group Meetings for students with additional needs
- Making recommendations regarding funding submissions, resourcing and programming to the Principal / Deputy Principal
- Writing submissions for external funding
- Inducting and reviewing the progress of teachers new to the Learning Enhancement Program
- Coordinating the collection of evidence to maintain the register for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).

- Being an active member of the Learning & Teaching team
- Supporting staff in addressing specific actions as a result of feedback on performance and results
- Conducting meetings with an emphasis on the professional development of all staff in Learning Diversity
- Mentoring the support staff (LSO’s) working in as well as new staff and assign them achievable duties within an appropriate timef
