**The Role**
The Intergovernmental, Strategy and Governance Branch provides key enabling functions to the Minister, Secretary, other Senior Executives and the National School Resourcing Board to support the implementation of an exciting education agenda. We are looking for team members who are dynamic, flexible and excited to contribute to driving outcomes for Schools Group. The branch will give you exposure to critical functions of governance, and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and interesting role within a branch that is focused on delivery of outcomes and providing a positive culture to work and develop within.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the APS5 Program and Policy Officer may include:

- Maintaining an understanding of relevant policies, programs, research, legislation, frameworks and data sets.
- Use of sound judgement to interpret and analyse relevant evidence, research, data and stakeholder feedback for policy development and program issues.
- Develop and maintain productive working relations with stakeholders including peak bodies, state and territory government representatives, contract and program partners and other Commonwealth Government agencies.
- Draft a range of documents, including briefings for senior executives National School Resourcing Board members, and Ministers.
- Undertake data analysis to support policy direction and program development.
- Contribute to governance arrangements, undertake procurement activities and manage contracts and projects.
- Coordinate and prepare briefing packs for the Deputy, Secretary and Minister in support of key engagement forums in the Schools Policy Group (Deputy Secretary), Australian Education Senior Officials Committee (Secretary) and the Education Ministers Meeting (Minister)
- Prepare handling briefs on items for the Deputy Secretary, Secretary and Minister
- Provide logístical support for executive forums, including managing the agenda and attendees as per the requirements of the Senior Executive and Minister
