How you will make an impact

Cabrini's Health Information Services team is seeking a reliable clerical staff member to work on a part time basis at Cabrini Malvern. This role will see you work alongside a professional administrative team and report to the Health Information Services Manager. The department is generally busy and requires a person with speed, efficiency and accuracy. The position is somewhat physical in nature at times and requires a person who has the physical capability to manage the pulling and transporting of multiple records without injury.

Key responsibilities include:
- Retrieving and delivering medical records to various hospital departments for planned patient admissions and attendances complying with collection and delivery schedules- Processing medical records of discharged patients- Creation, maintenance and storage of medical records within prescribed timeframes- Accurately filing records in main department and secondary storage areas- Ensuring completion of documentation and updating of patient information where required using the patient database- Providing a high level of customer service

This is a part-time position involving weekday, afternoon, weekend shifts and occasional public holidays. The position is part of a rotating roster working 6 shifts per fortnight, including every Saturday and Sunday.

Shifts are 7.6 hours in duration.

Rostered shifts are from:
07:00AM - 15:06PM (weekdays)

12:00PM - 20:06PM or 13:24PM - 21:30PM (afternoon shifts)

07:00AM - 15:06PM or 08:24AM - 16:30 (weekends and public holidays).

About you

Along with a sense of urgency and accuracy, you will have the following:
- Previous experience with medical records or Health Information (desirable)- Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with patient records- Exceptional customer service skills with ability to cooperate with a range of departments and personnel across the organisation- Sound clerical, administrative and filing skills- Appropriate numeracy skills- Excellent communication skills with a positive and friendly attitude- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to be flexible when needed- Ability to work as part of an effective team as well as with limited supervision- Physical ability to safely undertake repetitive tasks including retrieval, delivery and filing of medical records
