**About the role - Permanent Part-Time 0.6FTE to 1.0FTE (Negotiable)**
The Developmental Educator is part of a specialised team at Baptist Care SA providing allied health and other support services to people with disability.
You will work in partnership with a range of specialist practitioners, government agencies and community organisations, as well as Baptist Care SA’s client engagement team and corporate service units to meet the needs of clients and enhance our service offering. The position will also be responsible for building respectful and responsive relationships with clients, families, and their support staff to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.
- Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:_
- Develop strategies to support the client and their support team to learn new skills or strategies to improve overall quality of life, in line with the client’s goals and preferences.
- Proactively engage with clients, their families, support teams and providers to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate strategies and programs designed for clients on an individual or group basis.
- Complete Positive Behaviour Support assessment and planning with clients and implement the use of support strategies for clients and their supports in alignment with the values, knowledge and skills outlined in the NDIS Commission Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework. Lead and work collaboratively with the Specialist Support Services team to provide a range of therapy and intervention services to people with disabilities and their families or support team, with a focus on emotional wellbeing and independence.

**About you**:
You are a dedicated individual driven by a passion for positively impacting the lives of individuals. Continuously seeking growth, you are dedicated to staying informed about best practices and emerging trends in developmental education and related fields. Ultimately, you're driven by the chance to make a real difference, empowering individuals with NDIs to live their best lives.
You will also have the following skills and experience:
- A Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education or equivalent qualification
- Current membership with Developmental Educators Australia Inc (or an equivalent professional body)
- Previous experience as a Developmental Educator or a similar role.
- Previous experience working with people with disability with high complex needs. Experience in the development of positive behaviour support plans and strategies.

- A current and valid DHS: Child-Related Employment Screening/WWCC
- A current and valid National Police Clearance
- Provide First Aid (HLTAID011)
- Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Through Their Eyes)
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours may be required
- A valid full South Australian drivers Licence (C Class)
