**Role overview**:
Commencing in January 2025, as our Early Childhood Educator in our Curiosity Early Learning Centre, you will work as part of a team to provide inquiry learning programs for children aged 3 and 4 years.

**Main responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the delivery of the curriculum or program by supervising and observing children, with particular consideration for their interests, aptitudes and special rights
- Support children in their learning choices and help them to play and work with focus, purpose and enjoyment
- Contribute towards the organising and preparing of materials and resources for general and specific activities
- Contribute to the initiation and development of special projects which may include researching and collating information
- Contribute towards the highly valued teamwork of the centre
- Maintain a healthy and safe environment by assisting with domestic duties including cleaning after children’s activities and assist in preparing snacks and drinks in accordance with food safety guidelines
- Contribute to developmental records, documentation and portfolios for children
- Liaise with other ELC and Good Shepherd Staff and other Early Childhood Professionals
- Develop professional relationships with parents and staff
- Participate in staff meetings
- Assist with the maintenance of ELC resources, collections, material, equipment and other administrative tasks as required
- Assist with evacuation procedures, first aid and accident/incident management

**What you will bring**:

- An approved qualification for working with preschool age children - Diploma Children’s Service or working towards.
- Understanding of the developmental and wellbeing needs of children, as these relate to the learning and growth outcomes for children
- Understanding of and personal commitment to the Christian vision and values which underpin the School
- Knowledge in programming an ELC curriculum and recording learning based on the Early Years Learning Framework
- Basic IT skills
- The ability to develop positive, professional relationships with staff
- The ability to identify needs and respond with empathy
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a broad range of staff, children and parents
- Food Handling Training
- First Aid in Educational and Child Care Setting
- RAHN - Responding to Abuse, Harm and Neglect
- DCSI or Working with Children Check screening
- LEA Valuing Safe Communities training (can be provided)
