**Aboriginal Engagement Manager, NSW QLD VIC**

**About the role**

We have created a brand new role for an Aboriginal Engagement Manager to join UGL’s head office in North Sydney. You will become the key interface with our NSW, QLD and VIC sites and projects, local aboriginal communities, and social and procurement organisations**.**

**The opportunity**

In this role you will identify opportunities to engage local aboriginal businesses, maintain a relationship with Chambers and represent UGL internally and externally as an SME on Aboriginal and Torres Islander peoples matters.

You will support UGL’s initiatives for bids, projects and operations for Aboriginal engagement, employment and social procurement and promote a more inclusive work environment.

Because this is a new position, you can shape the role according to your strengths. You’ll get to travel to some of our amazing project sites and interact with community. This is a real opportunity for you to make a difference

**Your responsibilities will include**
- Identify and establish key contacts within local Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities including land Councils and regional community development and other government agencies
- Provide advice, support and contribute to the UGL RAP working groups
- Provide support and leadership for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees at UGL to ensure employees are connected to UGL and that UGL is connected to these employees
- Report outcomes
- Enhance UGL’s community participation activities (eg Reconciliation and NAIDOC Week)
- Be the primary point of contact for Community engagement, advice/guidance on new Aboriginal businesses and employment opportunities

**About you**
- Must be able to demonstrate a strong connection with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities
- Experience with Aboriginal procurement, recruitment or HR.
- A genuine and obvious interest in building an organisation’s capability for success with a commitment to diversity and inclusion activities
- Be able to travel
