**About Curtin Heritage Living**

Curtin Heritage Living is a not-for-profit, community-based organisation that has been providing a range of services to older members of the western suburbs for over 40 years. We are currently undergoing significant expansion, including the redevelopment of our iconic site on the beach in Cottesloe, and are well known for providing excellence in dementia care services at our RiverSea Mosman Park home.

**About the role**

We are looking for a passionate Lifestyle Coordinator/Therapy Assistant to join our team at our RiverSea Mosman Park home. This is a parttime position, 36 hours per fortnight.

Thursday 0900 - 1630
Friday 0900 - 1630
Saturday 0900 - 1300

**What you will be doing**
- Undertake lifestyle activities and therapeutic interventions in partnership with residents and representatives, and in line with resident needs, care plans, duty statements, professional guidelines and organisational process.
- Contribute to activity and therapy planning.
- Act as a primary advocate for the resident living with dementia and their representatives and ensure the dignity, privacy and freedoms of residents are upheld in line with the Charter of Resident Rights and Responsibilities.
- Ensure activities are focused towards function ability and independence.
- Liaise with therapists, nurses and carers to ensure holistic, comprehensive delivery of care.
- Document and report care interventions, observations, changes in needs and resident feedback in an accurate, objective and efficient manner.

- Demonstrated aptitude to help improve the lives of older people living with dementia.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

- Friendly and compassionate nature.
- Attention to personal appearance.

- Basic computer skills.
- National Police Clearance (current to within three-years).
- Annual influenza vaccination.
- COVID-19 vaccination.

Desirable:

- Experience working in aged care, community services or disability services, ideally in a therapy or activity role.
- Experience working with people living with dementia.
- Certificate III or IV in aged care, community services, allied health (or equivalent).
- Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience working in a client focused culture that values continuous improvement.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to adapt work priorities and meet deadlines depending on the needs of the resident.
