The organisation is now seeking to appoint an inspirational and talented Commercial Business Partner to provide exceptional commercial advice, guidance and direction to best support this $600M business unit. Leading through influence, this role is also a combination of commercial and financial management.

You will be is responsible for providing commercial partnership insight, business performance reporting and driving competitive advantage as well as business growth in alignment with the annual business plans, profit targets and strategic objectives. Additionally, they are also responsible for the quality of financial reporting and related internal controls for the business. Operating as the right hand to the Regional Manager for their recycling business, this is a mission critical role.

Based in Morningside, and reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager (Divisional CFO), your responsibilities will include:

- Maintain activities within functional departmental budget;
- Analyse and review cost analysis covering allocation, cost benefit, volume, profit, client profitability and life cycle analysis to improve quality of earnings;
- Work with Regional management on key commercial cost levers such as labour productivity, asset utilisation/replacement and repair/maintenance performance;
- Provide financial modelling and analysis supporting regional performance;
- Analyse trends and variances including rate and volume analyses to support the delivery of top line growth along with the preparation of pricing models as required;
- Act in line with the Leadership Model actively contributing to creating a high-performance, values-based company culture;
- Deliver the highest standard in professional conduct, personal presentation and company image;
- Contribute to maintaining a respectful workplace for all employees;
- Provide commercial insight to primary Regional Management, ensuring appropriate challenge & analysis to support business growth along with commercial governance/insight and analysis for all SBU activities;
- Provide timely and accurate guidance to the General Accounting team to ensure month end activities relating to their respective Regions are reflected in the reported results;
- Partner with primary Regional teams to prepare Regional plans and budgets in alignment with management guidelines and timetables, incorporating appropriate challenge and analysis;
- Partner with the Commercial Finance Manager and Regional Managers to improve price yield across the Strategic Business Unit.

**To be successful in this critical role you will bring the following skills and experience**:

- Proven financial and commercial experience in a complex, diverse, multi-site business, with regular communication to senior executives/business leadership;
- Experience in the development and monitoring of budgets in a complex business as well as business partnering skills to influence P/L performance;
- Ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders;
- Ability to communicate complex financial information in a concise, non-technical manner;
- Ability to implement and maintain appropriate internal/financial controls to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting of a business;
- CA or CPA qualified;
- Financial knowledge around consolidation of results, financial and management accounting, audit, taxation and corporate financing;
- Working knowledge of business systems and processes in order to optimise and simplify business processes utilising technology;
- Experience operating in an industrial, logistics or manufacturing environment that operates in high volume transactions;
- Experience in adopting a triple bottom line approach to business, able to evaluate performance in a broader perspective to create greater business value;
- Complex financial modelling and capex modelling expertise;
- Conceptual & analytical skills with proven capacity to establish commercial directions for a complex business, including successful action plans managing risk and compliance;
- Experience leading through influence;
- Strong knowledge of business reporting and analytical practices;
