**Your Role**
The Directorate of Senior Officer Management (DSOM) within the Defence People Group (DPG) is seeking a motivated and talented APS5 Human Resource Officer. In this role, you will be an integral part of the DSOM Senior Executive Service (SES) Team that provides human resource (HR) information and support to the Secretary, CDF, Service Chiefs and Group Heads for the management and staffing of the SES.
The APS 5 Human Resource (HR) Officer will demonstrate experience in some or all areas relating to:
- Provision of advice and direction for SES recruitment initiatives and campaigns, including recommendations for alternative courses of action and implications of recruitment activities;
- Coordination of the on-boarding process for all new SES in the Defence portfolio, including problem-solving any issues;
- Simple procurement activities, monitoring and recording of budgets and the ability to provide advice, policy guidance and support to ensure compliance with recruitment and other processes;
- Undertaking HR and other administrative processes, including interpretation of policy guidance and provision of advice associated with SES employment conditions, appointments and reporting;
- Business and corporate management for SES employees, including assistance in the development of briefs, statistical reports and monitoring the group mailbox and drafting responses to queries; and
- Provision of HR and administration advice to the Defence Leadership Group and their support staff on matters pertaining to members of the Senior Executive Service.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills;
- An ability to manage multiple tasks and assist with coordinating activities often within tight deadlines;
- Flexibility in the approach to changing priorities, circumstances and requirements; and
- Discretion and trust with sensitive personal information.
