The International Investment Branch leads the attraction and facilitation of foreign direct investment into Victoria. The Branch provides support to Victorian Government Trade and Investment (VGTI) offices and works directly with international companies to promote Victoria as an investment destination and provides facilitation support to secure investment projects.
About the role Reporting to the Director Investment - Europe & Americas, the VPS5 Investment Manager, Americas position is responsible for facilitating and delivering international investment opportunities for Victoria. This position is funded for a fixed-term basis, 24 months from contract commencement.

**In this role you will**:

- Engaging and building relationships with international companies seeking to invest in Victoria/Australia;
- Respond to enquiries and engage with international business to facilitate appropriate government assistance;
- Work with international VGTI offices to research and identify international investment targets and assist the implementation of international investment attraction strategies that seek to secure investment and jobs into Victoria;
- Prepare and deliver relevant introductions to potential international investors;
- Prepare briefings, reports and correspondence for executives and Ministers, related to investment opportunities from international markets;
- Provide efficient and timely support on the negotiation of financial incentives to attract investment to Victoria and the subsequent administration of these agreements;
- Contribute to international lead generation activities and work with VGTI offices to proactively identify international investment targets; and
- Work collaboratively and interdepartmentally with Victorian Government stakeholders to secure investment opportunities.

About you
To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

- Experience in economic development and project management.
- Ability to communicate a comprehensive understanding of global business trends and key business opportunities to persuade international businesses to invest in a new market.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including confidence in presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Project management experience in assisting business implement investments/enter new markets.
- Demonstrated understanding of Victoria's value proposition as a location for international business investment and how business make investment location decisions.
- Proven problem-solving skills and experience in helping to resolve operational issues and identify key improvements.
