**Role Description**
- Assist people to live as independently as possible in their own home and in the community, remove barriers and engage in a full life
- Personal care including helping people shower, getting dressed and performing daily activities, laundry etc.
- Providing social support to people with disabilities and people experiencing mental health
- Assist people with physical and psycho-social disabilities to remain independent in their own homes
- Assisting with light housework.
- Supporting clients to appointments in the community
- Providing therapy assistance to support the implementation of physical, speech, OT and psychological plans and strategies (as directed by their allied health teams)
- Supporting people to develop and build self confidence
- Reviewing and updating care support plans

**Qualifications and Experience**
- **Essential**_
- Current QLD Driver’s License
- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR
- Current Yellow Card
- Compulsory Third Party insurance on private vehicle
- NDIS Orientation Certificate or ability to obtain
- COVID-19 Certificate and current vaccination
- Manual Handling
- **Desirable**_
- Certificate III in Individual Support Disability/Aged Care or related studies.
- Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS system.
- Sound experience in the disability or allied health/welfare/education fields.
- A minimum of one year's driving experience and a full driving license.
