**About the role**

To support our success we are looking for a External Financial Advice Governance Specialist to join the Advice team based in Brisbane.

As an External Financial Advice (EFA) Governance Specialist you will ensure Australian Retirement Trust delivers high quality governance and due diligence in relation to our EFA Strategy. Specifically, the role will have oversight of and will administer the EFA fees process and due diligence and oversight over the registration and deregistration of advisers with Australian Retirement Trust. You will support the Trustees to manage and reduce the risks associated with the EFA strategy.

In this role, you will oversee the Sole Purpose Test determination on behalf of the Trustees to ensure compliance with these requirements. You will also be required to establish, review, and manage all documentation in relation to this strategy and will include compliance and monitoring, planning and implementing improvements to systems, financial planning process support, and advice documentation.

The role will also have daily contact with EFA financial advisers to understand the details of their advice and provide information and feedback regarding the Australian Retirement Trust policies in relations to fee payments and specifically the decisions made by Australian Retirement Trust in relation to the payment of advice fees.

**About you**

- Understanding of the Sole Purpose Test and how it applies to product providers.
- Knowledge of relevant technology systems, advice software and processes.
- Experience in customer contact, strategy or business development in financial services.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience of the financial advice process.
- Excellent attention to detail and record keeping ability.
- Experience in the governance and due diligence of financial advice.
- Strong relationship management skills, inclusive of an ability to influence and negotiate outcomes of a complex nature.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- High degree of business acumen, with the ability to deliver within a changing environment and developing strategies.
