Leading-hand Operator needed to join a successful and motivated civil works team in Goondiwindi.

**Your new company**

Hays Cairns Trades & Labour have partnered with a renowned Indigenous Organisation. This well-regarded company prides themselves on their innovative and dedicated approach to continuously improving and giving back to the community. They are currently seeking an experienced Leading Hand Operator to join their successful and motivated civil works team in Goondiwindi on a short-term DIDO temporary assignment.

**Your new role**

Your new role will be diverse and rewarding. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for operating a mobile plant at the highest standard to help ensure the safety, production and maintenance targets are met. You will oversee a small team of 5-8 people. This will be a DIDO opportunity, Monday to Friday, 8-10 hour days with food and accommodation provided. 4hrs travel will also be paid on your full hourly rate to drive in and out.

In this role you will be responsible for the tasks below;
- Attending all pre-start and toolbox meetings, and any other relevant meetings as required.
- Performing pre-start inspections and reporting defects on mobile plant and equipment.
- Operating mobile plant and equipment in accordance with policies & procedures.
- Comprehensive documentation of maintenance logs, checklists, and compliance processes.
- Operate earthmoving plant
- General civil construction duties

**What you'll need to succeed**

You will have a strong background working in the civil industry. Your skills in operating plant machinery, self-sufficiency, adaptability to work long hours in Queensland weather conditions, and strong work ethic will lead to your success in this role.

It is also an inherent requirement to hold the tickets below and experience:

- Machinery Tickets - you will hold one or more of the following tickets - Excavator ticket, Grader, Watercart, Roller or Dump Truck.
- Construction Induction White Card
- Valid driving licence
- Demonstrated experience in machinery operation and leading hand.
