Work in a high performing team to deliver compact, walkable and well-connected clusters of activity in one of the most significant centres in Greater Sydney.

**About Us**:
We are not your usual, we are upbeat, resourceful and determined. Our staff and community are at the core of what we do, looking for ways to work together and support each other. Naturally welcoming, we share good-natured humour and positivity. We aim to inspire a sense of possibility and create opportunities for all by rolling up our sleeves. Our workplace is agile and flexible, keeping ahead of the times. Be a part of it, let’s get something started.

**About the role**:
As a member of the City Futures directorate at Campbelltown City Council, you will be working within a high performing team that is tasked with driving Council’s future direction by advancing the connectivity, sustainability, liveability and productivity of the City. City Futures has oversight of large scale complex projects, such as the implementation of the Reimagining Campbelltown City Centre Master Plan, which requires experienced experts who can bring the vision to life.

Being a member of the City Strategy team within City Futures, you will have outstanding strategic thinking skills, balanced with an ability to deliver technical solutions for transport projects. The role has a wide sphere of influence and responsibility for providing accurate and timely advice to stakeholders and senior management that is both innovative and pragmatic.

In this position, you will:

- Provide strategic, sound and authoritative specialist transport planning advice to foster support for best practice, proactively identify risks, and negotiate positive outcomes across internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead Council’s submissions and advocacy to key state transport agencies, such as Transport for NSW, Roads and Maritime Services and Sydney Metro for infrastructure projects and strategies, ensuring effective liaison/communication with internal stakeholders and state agencies.
- Implement key actions in the Reimagining Campbelltown City Centre Master Plan and (City Centre) Integrated Sustainable Mobility Plan, with a focus on facilitating mode shift towards sustainable transport (public and active), whilst also recognising the requirement for and requirements of other transport modes
- Develop strategic transport plans, studies, strategies, policies, processes and documentation that foster an integrated approach to transport, urban design, land use and economics
- Develop high-quality communication collateral including written documentation, graphic outputs and presentations that meet the needs of the intended audience

**The Opportunity**
Campbelltown’s City Centre is one of the six metropolitan clusters that will anchor the Western Parkland City, making it one of the most important centres in Greater Sydney. With significant population growth and development already underway in the LGA and Western Sydney more broadly, as well as upcoming connections to the new Western Sydney Airport, there are exciting opportunities presenting themselves at Campbelltown.
This is a unique career opportunity to join high profile projects that emphasise a place-based and people-focused approach. The City is rapidly transforming from a suburban centre into one of the most significant cities within Greater Sydney.
In addition to Council's own projects, there are a number of upcoming State Government transport projects in and around the City Centre to support anticipated growth and investment. These include new Metro, Rapid Bus to Western Sydney Airport and a regional cycling network. Campbelltown is earmarked as a key interchange of the Fast Rail network, one of only two Fast Rail interchanges in all of Sydney.
- Tertiary Qualifications in transport, urban planning, civil engineering or related disciplines
- An understanding of the relationship between land use patterns, development economics, transport infrastructure and the behaviour of people
- Proven experience in delivering strategic transport plans, studies, strategies, policies, processes and documentation
- Outstanding stakeholder management, relationship management and negotiation skills
- Proven experience in forging useful partnerships with people across business areas, functions and organisations in pursuit of a shared goal
- Demonstrated project management experience, including the ability to plan for and manage complex projects and tasks, ensuring that risks are anticipated and minimised and that project objectives are met on time and to budget
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent prioritisation, time management and delegation skills
- Ability to use, manipulate and analyse GIS datasets to inform
