**About the Role**
The primary focus of this role is to:
- Produce clear, transparent and engaging communications for a range of channels to facilitate, improve, and support Council’s ongoing communications and engagement with the community and staff. This includes the development, implementation, review, and assessment of external and internal campaigns through a variety of methods.
- Produce, collate and edit content, including taking photographs as required, for Council’s key publications, including corporate documents and strategies, and print and digital communication channels.
- Continually improve the level, effectiveness, consistency, and quality of Council’s communications and engagement through different methods such as newsletters, posters, videos, events and the intranet.
**Key Requirements**
- An appropriate degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in developing and implementing effective external and internal communications and staff engagement strategies and campaigns and building support for organisational objectives.
- Extensive communications experience and demonstrated knowledge of communications in a government or political context.
- Sound project management skills to achieve work goals and to meet planned targets, deadlines, and commitments with mínimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to establish, develop, and maintain new systems, strategies and procedures relating to external and internal communications and stakeholder engagement.
- Highly developed verbal communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with key external and internal stakeholders.
- Exceptional ability to write and edit copy to a high standard, including interpreting sensitive and complex information into simple and plain language.
- Ability to relay information in an easy to understand and helpful manner.
Your commencing annual salary will range from **$108,604.71 to $124,895.42 + Superannuation**dependent on your experience and qualifications.
