**About the Roles**

The role of the Home Care Support Worker is to provide support to our aged care clients who reside in their own homes. Support workers are tasked with providing person-centered care aimed at maintaining the independence and happiness of their clients. This may involve undertaking duties such as assistance with daily living tasks or personal care needs, medication administration or the preparation and serving of meals. It may also include reporting back to coordinators on the progress of care and client satisfaction with services. The role is also responsible for transporting clients and domestic tasks such as house cleaning.

**About the Role**

The role of the Home Care Support Worker is to work with clients within the funding framework, assisting them to achieve their goals and increase their independence and participation within the community. You will provide support to people with disability and/or psychosocial needs, enabling them to undertake all aspects of daily living. You will also promote and demonstrate positive behaviours, learning experiences, and skill development for your clients.

**Key duties include**:

- Taking clients out for social outings and activities, shopping trips or GP/specialist appointments.
- Servicing clients at their respective homes with activities of daily living such as toileting, showering, and dressing.
- Light domestic duties and meal preparation/eating assistance.
- Medication administration duties.
- Liaising with the families and representatives of your client as required.

**Skills & Experience**

As well as the above skills, the **Key Requirements** include:

- National Police Clearance (less than 3 years old)
- Valid Queensland driver's license and a reliable vehicle
- Previous experience as a support worker in the health/disability sector or a relevant Cert III qualification is desirable
