Construction Manager

Rivergum is a progressive South Australian business with currently around 85 staff. Due to continued growth and success, an opportunity is available for an additional Construction Manager for their retail housing side to join their team. Rivergum strive to innovate, create and deliver market leading outcomes in collaboration with their customers and clients.

**What you will be doing and will be responsible for**:
Reporting to the General Manager, this new position will be responsible for achieving the building division’s key result areas to meet production targets across the construction process from site start to service and warranty.

The position provides leadership and direction to the team of 4-6 Supervisors (supporting between 120-140 homes per year) and develops plans and strategies to achieve financial and production targets required to maintain the profitability and efficiency of Rivergum Homes.

**Key Success Areas**:

- Drive efficiencies in the Construction Team to deliver targeted construction durations.
- Consistently review internal processes to ensure that average construction program timelines are reduced.
- Ensure construction related cost variances are managed to target.
- Consistently review internal processes to ensure that average Construction related ETS’s are reduced to desired levels.
- Establish workflow management software (Click) Templates & target build times for each standard product type and build project and ensure build speed meet timeline and quality set.
- Ensure reports submitted on time reflecting accurate information on duration targets and progress.
- Review and recruitment of trades as required to ensure work occurs in a timely manner and is not held up by trades.
- Ensure Quality Inspections are completed on all jobs, in line with quality policy.
- Ensure full compliance of WH&S obligations by the construction team, including all safety plans in place and all safety inspections are undertaken on time.
- Ensure construction customer satisfaction levels are achieved in with target.
- All 3 month maintenance work to be closed within a timely manner.

**‘What you look like’ and need to demonstrate to be successful**:

- Prior Construction Manager or Senior Site Supervisor experience with a volume builder.
- A minimum of 10 years experience in residential construction techniques and operational management.
- Excellent communicator with a high level of energy.
- Proven business acumen and the ability to develop and monitor budgets and financial targets.
- Motivating leader with the ability to support and inspire team to achieve results and stay on track.
- Experience managing risk and the ability to identify and mitigate risk through planning.
- Expertise performing as a member of a senior management team and contributing to the development strategic business plans.
- Significant experience managing and monitoring workflow processes and developing process reengineering improvements.
- Experience using Click software or similar (highly desirable)
- Proven experience developing, implementing, and monitoring operational plans and evaluating their performance.
- Hold a current driver’s license.
- Diploma in Building & Construction / Business Management
- General Builders License (minimum 3 storey residential construction) (desirable)
