**The role
We are looking for a State Construction Manager - QLD to join our leadership team as part of Format Planning & Construction. Reporting to the Director, Format Planning & Construction and working closely with the broader leadership team, this role will lead the successful delivery of the state's construction projects within the planned annual Property Network Plan.
The State Construction Manager is a natural leader who is comfortable supporting both daily execution activities and large, complex and cross-functional projects. The role has 8 direct reports including the accountability for a number of subcontractors.
The State Construction Manager will work cross-functionally to identify the right offer targeted to site specifics, support capital approval processes, and support end-to-end delivery of projects within the State.

The State Construction Manager QLD role is a permanent full time opportunity.
**Who we’re looking for
You are a highly collaborative leader with a proven track record of leading complex projects at scale. A leader with well-developed influencing skills, who understands how to create positive and sustainable change within an organisation. A great communicator with business acumen and an intuitive and applicable understanding of effective strategy & execution.
You will have the ability to recognise opportunities and make good decisions through market awareness, understanding the needs of individuals, business and the community.
To ensure your success in this role, you must have the following:
- Construction related tertiary qualification or construction related trade qualification.
- Minimum 10 years experience in construction project management and experience in retail refurbishment
- Experience in managing new store and renewal programs in the Retail Sector
- High level of retail planning experience with financial reporting
- Excellent leadership capability
Additionally, we require:
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in Google apps
- Industry experience, preferably in construction project management and planning
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Passionate desire to deliver quality projects on time and to budget
- Understanding & knowledge of REVIT and documentation skills
- The ability to partner and build strong relationships founded on trust and thought leadership
- Resilience and confidence working in ambiguity, creating clarity and direction
