Greater Adelaide SA, Australia Rizzani de Eccher Australia Pty Ltd Full time

Rizzani de Eccher Australia Pty Ltd (a fully owned subsidiary of Rizzani de Eccher S.p.A., one of the major Italian Contractor companies) is successfully establishing a long-term technical office based in Australia (recently relocated from Brisbane to Adelaide), in order to support the ongoing projects and at the same time continue to develop the existing and future pipeline of projects in the field of specialized and complex civil engineering works specifically for bridges, viaducts and tunnels.

Currently part of the technical expertise and specialized know-how of the company are retained by staff located in Australia, although for the majority of the specific design and engineering details the reliance is mainly based on the technical office(s) located in the Rizzani de Eccher S.p.A. headquarters in Italy. For these reasons, and given the substantial amount of works on the local market, the Australian branch will require additional skillset specifically to ensure that a successful coordination is maintained between the company’s technical data, specifications and drawings (that are prepared by the various engineering departments) and the site where those are to be used as inputs for the safe and compliant implementation on the works.

We have identified this skillset under the role of a specialized Technical Construction Coordinator in the area of complex civil engineering projects, whose duties align substantially with the ANZSCO Classification for “Architectural, Building and Surveying Tecnichians (3121)” as described below.

**Duties**:

- Work in close coordination with the Doc Control personnel to ensure that all the most up to date plans and drawings are recorded and filed (as most of those are prepared by the Italian headquarters, given the specific and worldwide known expertise of Rizzani de Eccher and its subsidiaries in bridge, viaducts and tunnel equipment and engineering), including technical specifications and requirement under codes of practice or local regulations
- Receive PDF and CAD files, and prepare / amend site plans and specific drawings in CAD (2D and 3D) for site preparatory works, toolbox presentations / discussions, extraction of Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for preparation and monitoring of programs, work change orders, etc.
- Assist technical offices (both local and/or overseas) and the site supervisors / technicians with preparation of drawings, Word manuals, procedures or SWMS, PowerPoint presentation and preliminary construction program (Excel / MS Project) to ease the implementation of the works on site and the communications with (and between) external parties and workforce
- Attend site visits and perform site audits / inspections as needed to coordinate the works, provide technical and/or logístical support, monitor progress, check compliance with quality and technical specifications (ITP’s, checklists, etc.) and obtain data and information
- Analyze the data together with the local Construction Manager to determine any possible required follow-up actions with the local site works / offices (via supervisors) or with additional engineering development by the specialized Italian technical department

**Essential skills**:

- Understanding of design and civil engineering processes, including site experience if possible, and safe construction work practices
- Good communication and skills with site personnel and also with engineers, to translate design and logístical requirements into drawings and sketches for efficient and safe site activities
- Ability to coordinate with Rizzani de Eccher headquarters and technical departments independently and autonomously (hence very often in Italian), to understand the technical requirements and convert those into specific requests to local entities in Australia and prepare clear sketches to coordinate efficiently the interaction between the parties; vice versa, to feed proper inputs and requirements to the specialized personnel in Italy for the preparation / updates of methodologies, design and engineering outcomes, compliance checks, etc.
- Understanding and ability to navigate design drawings, operational manuals, method statements and technical specifications / guidelines / codes of practice for the purpose of assisting engineers, supervisors and workforce to coordinate the works with internally developed drawings (to be easier to read), extraction of quantities, tracking of quality, safety and program performances
- Ability to use Word and Excel to prepare, analyze and monitor Safety registers, Method Statements, BOQ’s, QA checklist, etc.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of AutoCAD (2D and, preferred, 3D) and general knowledge of Bim360 and Doc Control systems
- Based in the main local office in Adelaide, but with ability to move easily within Australia and New Zealand for site works coordination

**Employment experience**:

- Degree and (preferred) Post-Degree courses in Civil Engineering, Architectural and/or Construction Manageme
