About us
The Corporate Services and Infrastructure group oversees and leads the key public accountability requirements of the department including finance, procurement, evidence and insights, performance reporting and risk, audit and integrity. The group also manages the governance and delivery of major infrastructure - including the Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA).
The CSBA oversees critical justice infrastructure projects and provides end-to-end project development, management and delivery of Victoria's new prisons, youth justice centres, court and custody facilities, emergency services facilities and public safety features. In addition, the role has responsibility for the department-wide information and communications technology (ICT) functions, including associated programs and projects.
About the role
This Deputy Secretary, Corporate Services and Infrastructure role has strategic, operational and improvement responsibilities. The role leads and directs the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality corporate service functions to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders. The role will initiate, lead and drive a renewed focus on business processes and process improvement, particularly as it relates to transactional corporate services, to improve efficiency and customer service.
The role is strategic in nature, encompassing thought leadership and best practice to guide and support the department's purposeful capacity and capability building, and enhanced performance in a dynamic environment.
Reporting to the Associate Secretary, the Deputy Secretary, Corporate Services and Infrastructure will ensure the provision of strong expert advice, leadership and support to government on:
- Financial Management Control
- Risk and Audit
- Procurement, Corporate Strategy and Innovation
- Evidence and Insights including the Crime Statistics Agency
- Technology Solutions
- the Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA)
The Deputy Secretary, Corporate Services and Infrastructure is also responsible for effective management and visible leadership to ensure the delivery of positive service outcomes and will have a comprehensive understanding of government and operational service delivery. The Deputy Secretary, Corporate Services and Infrastructure will need to demonstrate strong people leadership values and be passionate on the delivery of programs and projects across the department.

About you
- A significant record of achievement in leadership, including strategic planning and management, establishing program priorities and directions, quality management, corporate governance, implementation of culture changes and compliance with statutory requirements
- Extensive experience as a senior executive in the development, implementation and ongoing management of reform agendas, for example in the delivery of policy reform, legislative change or service outcomes
- Strategic understanding of and ability to keep abreast of emerging issues and risks that may impact the department's programs and service delivery
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence and provide advice at ministerial and senior executive levels
- Demonstrated high-order conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
