About the roleThe Area Manager (Brisbane South) is one of nine Area Managers within MSQ and is responsible for strategically leading and managing marine safety and waterway operations within the Brisbane region's diverse and complex waterways. You will be required to provide specialist advice related to the interpretation and implementation of relevant maritime compliance legislation, both within and across public sector agencies. You will also be responsible for fostering strong stakeholder relationships and managing the expectations of Regional Councils, Action Groups and industry to proactively manage safety initiatives for complex waterways, recreational vessel activities, vessel sewage and the appropriate behaviour of waterway users. About youThe Area Manager (Brisbane South) requires a dynamic and strategic leader with strong operational management experience and a demonstrated ability to take overall responsibility for the team's day to day operations to meet agreed timeframes and outcomes. To be successful in this role, you will have a proven record of successfully delivering complex programs of work, ideally within a maritime marine environment. As an experienced manager, you'll have the ability to manage multiple stakeholder groups effectively to meet program goals and community expectations. Ideally, you will bring substantial knowledge and understanding of the maritime industry and relevant policy and legislation. You will also have a passion for the development of your team and a strong focus on continuous improvement. In this role, you will require a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) clearance check and hold a C Class Drivers Licence.
