Established in 1871, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is located in Sydney’s The Domain adjacent to the Royal Botanic Garden and near the Central Business District, the Gallery acknowledges the original custodians of this land - the Gadigal people.

The Art Gallery attracts around 2 million visitors annually and runs Australia’s largest education program with over 90,000 student and teacher visits per year.

With our expanded campus the Art Gallery has a new state-of-the-art building located next to our existing and much-loved building. Providing us with close to double the exhibition space, the expanded Art Gallery enables us to share more art with more people and provide more family, learning and educational programming for all our audiences.

**About the Role**

To manage the development and realisation of engaging collaborative projects, programs and interpretive content, centred on First Nations art, that support the Art Gallery’s strategic plan of connecting with existing and potential audiences, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander audiences, more effectively.

**What Technical/Soft Skills you require**
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and accepted in the community as such. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-discrimination Act 1997.
- Demonstrated experience in leading, devising and delivering collaborative projects and programs which engage diverse audiences with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander art coupled with proven ability to set program objectives and reach targets on time and within budget.
- Excellent working knowledge of art history, with strengths in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander art in an educational context, and extensive experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultural knowledge.
- Effective stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Describe how you developed First Nations community engagement for a program targeting culturally and linguistically diverse audiences. What was your approach? How did you measure success? (maximum 400 words)
