**About the role**
Create NSW is part of the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport. We help grow and support the arts, culture and creative industries in NSW for everyone to enjoy.

The First Nations Arts Funding and Development Officer will support the First Nations Arts Funding & Development Manager in managing existing funding programs and developing new initiatives to support First Nations artists and arts organisations. The role will also lead on creative engagement by helping the First Nations Arts Funding & Development Manager to find new ways to connect First Nations creatives with funding opportunities and development programs.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure decision-making respects First Nations cultural protocol’s and algins with government priorities.
- Help create and launch initiatives that uplift First Nations communities focusing on leadership and sector growth.
- Refine funding frameworks, to reflect First Nations perspectives and improve decision making.
- Organise internal and external meetings, minutes, and maintaining records to keep the unit running efficiently, with a focus on engaging First Nations people and communities.
**About You**
To be successful in this role you will have knowledge of the arts, culture and screen sectors including experience and understanding of First Nations NSW arts and culture.
