The NSW ODPP offers an exciting mentoring program to support and mentor First Nations law students and legal professionals.

**About us**

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is the independent prosecuting authority of New South Wales (NSW) and is responsible for the prosecution of all serious offences committed against the laws of the State on behalf of the people of NSW. Our vision is to be a dynamic prosecution service recognised for its excellence and leadership.

**Who Can Apply?**
- Applicants must be of First Nations descent, identify as First Nations and be accepted by their community as being First Nations;
AND
- First Nations law students based in NSW;
OR
- First Nations legal professionals at any stage of their professional career who are based in NSW.

Please be aware you may be asked to provide your certificate of Aboriginality or a letter of support from an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation from your community or community of which you live.

**Program Features**:

- One-on-one mentorship with experienced Crown Prosecutors.
- Networking opportunities with legal experts and peers.
- Insights into prosecutorial work and legal practice.
- Opportunity to participate in an advocacy workshop.

**How to Apply**

Demonstrate your suitability for the program by addressing the following questions within the body of your cover letter:

- Why do you want to participate in the First Nations Mentoring program;
- How will the First Nations Mentoring Program impact your career aspirations;
- Whether you would prefer a male or female mentor or you don't mind;
- Whether you are interested in appellate or trial work; and
- Whether you want a mentor based where you are or would you be willing to have AVL mentoring relationship.
