**About the Role**:
The Allied Health Workforce Development Lead is an exciting new opportunity for a senior Allied Health Professional to develop their capabilities in Workforce development, innovation and governance.

**What you'll achieve**:

- Provide strategic direction and leadership with respect to workforce development, recruitment and retention of Allied Health professionals and paraprofessionals at RCH.
- Contribute to processes required for overall Allied Health Governance including credentialling and professional registrations, professional development and accreditation.
- Identify and facilitate opportunities for staff to develop innovative health care models or practice changes including advanced/extended scope of practice models where appropriate.
- Represent, promote and advocate for the Allied Health workforce via actively contributing to a range of multi-disciplinary committees, working groups, advisory groups, communities of practice, programs, projects and initiatives across the Campus and external to the organisation.

**Your skills and experience**:

- An accredited qualification in one of the Allied Health Therapy or Science professions employed at RCH.
- Eligibility for professional registration with AHPRA (where required) or membership of an appropriate professional body.
- Demonstrated experience in workforce management within a tertiary hospital setting.
- Significant experience in provision of education/training programs for health professional staff or students.
- Proven ability to lead a team and work effectively as a senior team member/leader.
- Post Graduate qualification in Allied Health, Health Service Management, Health Professional Education, Health Leadership or a field relevant to this position (or working towards).

**And preferably**:

- Significant experience in provision of services and leadership in an Allied Health field (at least 10 years)
- Experience in leading others, mentoring and training.
- Knowledge of workforce trends, needs and gaps specific to paediatric healthcare.

**About the Team**:
The Allied Health Clinical Education Team supports all the Allied Health Therapy and Science profressions across RCH, while working collaboratively with Allied Health Departments, Medical Education, Nursing Education, the Education Hub, Organisational Development, Strategy, Planning and Performance and other key stakeholders and partners across the Melbourne Children’s Campus (including The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, MCRI and The RCH Foundation), with a strong focus on inter-professional education and collaboration.
