Major Client Group (“MCG”) is a key segment within CBA’s Business Banking division. It serves over 2,000 large businesses (revenue exceeding $150m) with complex banking requirements (lending between $100m to $500m). Our customers operate a diverse range of businesses, encompassing private and public companies, including some of Australia’s Top 500 ASX-listed companies.
MCG’s Chief Operating Office Team supports the critical activities of our customer-facing teams to drive growth. We work closely with a broad range of areas across CBA and Business Banking, including teams within finance, product, operations, change, marketing & communications.
**Do work that matters**
As Manager in this high performing team, you will plan and deliver premier events to enable MCG’s business development and deepen relationships with our distinguished clientele. You will take ownership of our customer-facing events, taking the lead on all elements of event management from planning to execution to post-implementation reviews that assess value delivered and opportunities for improvement. You will be on top of the fine details but also understand how our customer events fit into the bigger picture of business development and marketing. Examples of events that the role will support on include coordination of clients at the Australian Open, Formula 1, Fashion Week, Concerts and Sporting events.
**To be successful in this role, some of the broad roles and responsibilities may include**:
- Work independently to coordinate, design, and produce high quality events - managing all project elements within required timeframes. This includes all event details eg contract reviews, budgeting, catering, entertainment, transport, location, invite list and supervising setup / pack-down.
- Work on multiple projects at a time working and travelling across all major cities in Australia and work to deliver both state and national events with different leaders across Major Client Group.
- Assists manage the calendar of events across the country.
- Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations.
- Post-event evaluation, including gathering feedback and analysing data to measure event success.
- Support ticketing to various sporting events.
- Assist the broader MCG COO Team.
**We’re interested in hearing from people who possess the following**:
- Have Agency experience or have medium to large-scale event management experience, ideally in a corporate or business-to-business environment.
- Can work autonomously, managing multiple deliverables concurrently.
- Have proficiency in event management software and tools.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills and an ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Presents well in front of high net worth clients
- Can be flexibility to work outside of regular business hours including weekends as needed to support event outcomes.Ideally possess a tertiary degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.
