CABLER - DATA AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN

Due to the higher demand, we are pleased to advise that our technician team is expanding and we are looking for new installers to meet the requirements of growing workload. We specialise in commercial and residential areas and also co-operate with major suppliers in the industry.

We are seeking experienced and capable data cable installers with a range of knowledge from structured cabling (CAT5e to CAT7), Nurse call systems, MATV systems and security/CCTV systems. The installers will participate on a structured cabling projects and nurse call system installations.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

- Installing internal communications and data cabling, equipment and peripherals for computer networks, telephone, cable television and security and fire alarms
- Installing telecom equipment, devices and appliances such as landline telephones, switchboards, data transmission equipment and other related
- Installing cabling for telephone, pay TV and computer transmission
- Setting up new telecommunications frames
- Connecting PC, monitors, interface devices or peripherals like WI-FI, switches and routers
- Connecting systems with security or fire systems
- Providing new installations or replacements, maintenance or repair of already existing systems
- Locating faults in equipment and appliances using electronic instruments. Responsible for testing and troubleshooting of cables
- Measuring characteristics of wiring cables and printing protocols
- Programming systems to the requirements of the client
- Customising and measuring impedance and strength signals
- Attaching wires and cables to appliances and other equipment such as door controllers, REX buttons, card readers, keypads, magnetic and electric locks
- Orienting in, using drawings and examining work areas to decide the best installation of cables having regard to Telecommunication regulations

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

- MUST HAVE a Cabling Open Licence or at least two years of relevant experience in data and telecommunication industry, Experience in Nurse Call Systems or Data Cabling industry
- MUST HAVE an NSW Occupational Health & Safety Card (White Card)
- Work Safely at Height Card and an Operate Elevating Platforms Card NOT mandatory

SKILLS:

- MUST BE knowledgeable in various wiring configurations and terminations
- MUST HAVE a valid Driver Licence
- MUST HAVE a clear Police Check

OTHER SKILLS:

- A keen eye for detail
- Effective communication skills
- Must be able to work in a team as well as work independently
- A high standard of workmanship with a good work ethic is a must
