**The opportunity**
As an underground Surveillance Officer, you will be responsible for the technical inspections of infrastructure activities for civil, rail alignment and bridges onsite and offsite activities (e.g. precast, steel fabrication, post-tensioning). This will include, but not limited to:
- Conduct daily site inspections and generating inspection reports using a risk management approach.
- liaison with contractors on ground teams through a collaborative approach and escalate any findings or construction issues with the Senior Surveillance Engineer.
- Ensuring that health and safety measures are adopted and followed to the full extent.
- display high levels of attention to detail
- knowledge and skills in understanding the project technical requirements, ITPs, specifications, procedures and plans
- Ability to influence others, good negotiating skills.
- Excellent skills in managing of conflicting priorities.
- Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written, open communication.
**For success in this position, you will possess the following skills and qualifications**:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the civil / structural infrastructure sector.
- Certificate IV in Construction, Project Management, Engineering or related field and/or equivalent experience in the construction industry
- Preferred experience in Independent Verification, Client or a similar role.
- Current NSW General Construction Induction card (white card) or acceptable interstate alternative
- Minimum NSW Class C driver’s license or equivalent license valid in NSW
- Proof of right to work in Australia
