**The position**
The CaLD Engagement Officer will be responsible for engaging and building relationships within the community, ensuring increased Culturally and Linguistically Diverse engagement with HelpingMinds services. The CaLD Engagement Officer will work with all teams within HelpingMinds, specifically Child, Youth and Family Services, to ensure HelpingMinds services are culturally appropriate.
- Engaging with the community with regular outreach work
- Manage a case load, providing support services to children at risk and carers of people with mental illness
- Develop and Facilitate culturally appropriate activities and workshops based on community needs with the plan to build a strong and resilient community
- Establish, foster and maintain close working links with relevant service providers specific to CALD - communities.

**Primary duties and responsibilities**
- Improving and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
- Act as a link between the community and HelpingMinds;
- Manage a case load, providing support services to children at risk and carers of people with mental illness
- Engaging with the community with regular outreach work.
- Maintain accurate records for tracking and monitoring of engagement outcomes;
- Identify opportunities to establish, foster and maintain closing working links with key agencies and community groups;
- Ensure case notes are kept and entered into relevant databases in a timely manner;
- Prepare relevant reports in an accurate and timely manner;
- Positive representation of the HelpingMinds brand and the services offered through liaison with referral agencies, community groups and other stakeholders;
- Establish, foster and maintain close working links with relevant service providers specific to CaLD communities;
- Develop networks, participate in community projects and provide support to local committees and other community groups in the interest of HelpingMinds;
- Develop and Facilitate culturally appropriate activities and workshops based on community needs with the plan to build a strong and resilient community;
- Communicate the needs of the community to the Executive Child Youth and Family Services and;
- Working with the Child, Youth and Family Services team to identify and facilitate a range of culturally appropriate events.

**About You**:
This is an opportunity for a client focussed CaLD Engagement Officer with a genuine interest in working collaboratively to ensure effective team goals and client outcomes are met. We are looking for someone who has the ability to work autonomously with a demonstrated ability to consult, liaise and maintain close working relationships with other service providers.
Minimum qualifications:

- Relevant qualification in the area of Health, Community Services or Mental Health
- National Police Clearance (valid within 6 months), Working With Children Check, Current Drivers License, Current First Aid Certificate
- Compliant with relevant Covid-19 Vaccination Requirements

**Preferred experience and skills**:

- Strong experience engaging and working with young people and families;
- Experience working with CaLD Clients and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

**Essential Minimum Selection Criteria**:

- Current Driver’s License and reliable vehicle
- National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months)
- Working with Children Check
- A relevant qualification in the area of Health, Community Services or Mental Health
- Compliant with relevant COVID-19 Vaccination requirements
- Strong experience engaging and working with young people and families;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly and cooperatively with people at all levels;
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in providing assistance and support to CaLDl clients;
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to develop collaborative partnerships;
- Demonstrable effective interpersonal liaison skills;
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as self-motivated to work independently;
