Accounting Operations Officer

**Overview**
The main purpose of the role is the processing of the following payments:
- Accounts Payable
- Claims
- Sundries
For on behalf of our clients to provide best practise to the Company’s Clients and to the satisfaction of the company’s internal needs.
**Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities**
- Processing Journals on aaspire
- Payment of Trustee expenses
- Processing of Trustee Invoices
- Processing of Vendor/Amendments
- Cancellations/Stop payments
- Financial Adjustments on aaspire
- Reconciliation of payments from aspire to ABLE
- Providing assistance with cashiering
- Sundry processing including refunds to members, employers and ATO
- Processing of transaction reversals
- Opening and distributing of daily mail to be sorted, dated and stamped and distributed in a timely manner
- Adhoc projects and tasks as directed by the Team Leader/National Manager including process change or improvement initiatives.
**Experience & Personal Attributes**
- Completion of responsibilities with mínimal rework on a timely basis, as highlighted above
- Achievement of deadlines/tasks/meeting Service Level agreements and understanding of Service Level agreements
- Quality and accuracy of processing
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Detail oriented: accurate
- Understanding of awareness
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Takes personal responsibility for meeting commitments/deadlines, actively seeks additional responsibility and takes steps to improve current level of performance
- Escalate issues in a timely manner
- 12 months experience in Accounts payable
- Computer Literate (Word, Excel, Windows)
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal clients and banks.
- General Ledger
- Strong Communication Skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Strong planning and organization skills
- Attention to details and accuracy
- Strong work Ethic
- A flexible and a adaptable approach
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Team focus
Experience in or knowledge of one or more of the following areas is desired:
- Knowledge of aaspire or similar administration system highly regarded.
- Exposure to the superannuation administration industry would be valuable
