**Position Information**:
Dundas Public School has a long and proud tradition of providing quality public education to the Dundas community for 73 years. Located on Dharug country in the Carlingford principal network, Dundas Public School is set in a residential location and features include spacious, leafy surrounds. The school currently has 330 enrolments, 72% of these students coming from a variety of cultural and language backgrounds other than English.

The school provides a range of extracurricular programs including choir, band, debating, dance and sport. The school has a reputation as being an inclusive and caring place where students are engaged and happy at school. It enjoys close links with the local community and has an active P & C.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary underpinned by strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to balance exemplary classroom teaching practice with the complexities of the leadership aspects of the Assistant Principal role.
Proven capacity to lead a whole-school initiative working collaboratively with the leadership team to develop and lead targeted, differentiated pedagogical practices to improve student outcomes.
An open, visible and approachable leader with outstanding organisation, communication and interpersonal skills, who empowers staff and builds positive, authentic relationships with all members of the school community.
Demonstrated ability to develop sustained positive relationships to contribute to whole-school wellbeing processes that support students in connecting, succeeding, thriving and learning.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
