We are seeking experienced and influential leaders for Deputy Commissioner roles in the ATO’s Client Engagement Group. As a senior member of the Client Engagement executive team, you’ll play an important role in contributing to the overall strategic direction of the Client Engagement Group and more broadly the ATO and APS.

These are significant strategic and delivery roles: you will be working as one of a team of ten Deputy Commissioners each responsible for a particular client segment or function. You will personally lead a team of between 500 to 1,500 staff, with six to twelve Assistant Commissioners as direct reports, with responsibility for delivery of client experiences that add to the sustained health of the Australian tax and superannuation system.

You’ll work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, anticipating their needs and ultimately developing and delivering innovative solutions for the administration of a more effective tax and superannuation system. Taking a whole-of-client approach, you will put the clients at the centre of everything you do while driving integrity and compliance across the tax and superannuation system.

You will have a strong compliance, legal, or accounting background to lead the development and implementation of key strategic and major agency initiatives or programs in a challenging and fast paced environment.

You will significantly influence the outcomes of complex issues that can have a wide impact internally and externally, domestically and internationally.

As a member of the Client Engagement Group Executive, you will build trusted relationships and work collaboratively with your peers to deliver on organisational outcomes and meet government commitments. You will be an influential leader within the ATO and provide strategic, thought and people leadership in a transforming environment.

These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in **Adelaide, Brisbane CBD, Canberra, Melbourne CBD, Perth or Sydney CBD.
