**The Role**
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is seeking a Senior Executive Assistant (SEA) to provide high-level executive support, ensuring the smooth daily operation of the office.
You will manage front-of-office functions in a complex and high volume environment, including managing diaries, workflow, appointments and correspondence,
organising events, coordinating travel, collating, and reviewing documentation.
The variety of tasks include:
- Managing an extremely active calendar of appointments and coordinating meetings to ensure the CIO’s schedule is followed and respected.
- Prioritising conflicting needs, handling matters expeditiously, proactively, and following through to successful completion (often with deadline pressures).
- Composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential in nature.
- Arranging and confirming complex, detailed travel plans
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence.
The APS 6 Executive Assistant may be required to participate in activities outside of the core duties of the role, such as meetings, and activities ensuring a continual understanding of issues that affect the Group and build productive relationships to achieve results in a busy, fast-paced environment.
**About our Team**
As the APS 6 Executive Assistant for the Chief Information Officer (CIO) you are accountable to perform and achieve complex administrative support work within an integrated workforce. There is an expectation that you have knowledge of and comply with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defences mission and policy requirements.
Along with supporting the SES Band 3 you will be working closely to support the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) and the Chief of Staff (COS) to ensure the continuity of the office is upheld.
As the Executive Assistant you will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes for your work.
The successful applicant will have the ability to prioritise high-level administrative tasks and undertake complex administrative support functions and activities, with previous experience in office management. Initiative in researching, analysing, planning and reviewing tasks is vital in assessing the activities critical to meeting the needs of the senior leader.
They will have demonstrated exceptional and productive working relationships, with the ability to work collaboratively with both military and civilian employees, including senior leaders. This position requires liaison with Defence stakeholders and visitors at all levels, demonstrated corporate knowledge with experience in managing workflows and resources and the ability to provide recommendations to achieve outcomes.
