- contribute to strategic policy advice to the Minister, Ministerial staff and Departmental Executive to support the delivery of infrastructure and achievement of related economic and social outcomes
- identify cross-cutting issues and opportunities and developing/recommending policy options.
- Use strategic partnerships to understand local implications of the national infrastructure agenda and to contribute to and inform the national agenda through relevant forums.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the department and support contemporary approaches to infrastructure policy development, by facilitating workshops and meetings, providing informal assistance and insights, and participating in communities of practice.
- Develop, maintain and foster strong and productive partnerships, relationships and networks between the division and other areas of the department; all areas of Queensland Government; and industry groups.
- Prepare and coordinate timely and well-researched briefings, policy papers, reports, Cabinet submissions and correspondence on infrastructure matters.
- Investigate, by leading research and strategic analysis, complex policy issues and initiatives at State, national and global levels to formulate pragmatic and meaningful advice to deliver infrastructure policy outcomes within tight timeframes and competing priorities.
- Support the Director, Strategic Partnerships to set and monitor an ambitious and engaging work program for the team, and develop and implement standardised tools and approaches for analysis and critical thinking, and the day-to-day operations of the division.
- Assist in developing and evaluating staff development activities, including staff induction, performance management, mentoring staff in performing their duties, and coaching staff in using analytical and advisory tools and approaches.
- Supervise and manage staff in line with quality human resource management practices, with particular reference to employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
