**About the role**:

- CatholicCare Victoria is committed to building thriving communities where everyone feels included and the Family Services portfolio plays an integral role in this. _The Family Services program provides a continuum of support to families in the community, ranging from supporting them in their parenting role, to working intensively with families under increased pressure whose children are at risk of placement in care services, or have been placed in care and are able to be reunified with family in a short timeline, through the Victorian and Aboriginal Family Preservation and Reunification Response (FPRR)._
- The Case_ Support Worker for Family Services provides support to Practitioners who work with families assisting them to develop the necessary skills in relationships and parenting and develop related community networks. _Family Services Practitioners and the Family Services Case Support Worker engage with children, young people and parents/caregivers in a child focused, empowering and meaningful way. _

**Specifically, the position is responsible for**:

- _Promoting children’s safety, stability and development._
- _Providing practical support to families and case managers by undertaking tasks to assist families to develop skills in relationships and parenting._
- _Providing support to families to develop community networks that will strengthen their family functioning._
- Developing, maintaining and strengthening existing linkages with a range of health, family and community support services.
- _Maintaining accurate and timely records and data, including electronic data base management._
- _Participating in Family Service Alliance, including working groups, activities as required._

**To be considered for this position, applicants require**:

- Diploma of Community Welfare Studies or similar or working towards obtaining this qualification.
- Professional approach with a good work ethic and a positive attitude in working with people and families.
- Well-developed priority and time management skills and a preparedness to travel as required.
- An ability to work with vulnerable families in a flexible, non-judgmental and holistic approach to provide support to Family Services Practitioners.
- Knowledge of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and any other relevant legislation in relation to child safety.***
