Melbourne, Australia ANZ Banking Group Full time

**Req ID**: 64121
**Department**: Tech ARC Core Systems
**Division**: Technology
**Location**: Melbourne
About the role

As a Release Lead, you’ll champion Agile ways of working across multiple squads, and will be working with Product Owners, Analysts and Delivery Leads across Tribes to convert business initiatives into cross-platform releases of new technology features or enhancements.

You’ll support and incorporate best practices in asset and services implementation, to enable squads to rapidly, reliably and efficiently develop, test and release high quality solutions to deliver value for customers.

What will your day look like

Act as the SME and owner of the change and delivery process across the Tribe
Provide Release Management as a service to the Tribe, working closely with Squad Product Owners, Engineers and Technical leads to coach, plan and manage successful implementation across multiple products and teams
Promote and communicate planned releases to ensure fully visibility by all stakeholders
Drive continuous improvement of the release management framework and help coach and educate less experienced parties
Facilitate and lead agile release planning sessions and ensure outcomes are well communicated and agreed
Drive collaborative culture within Technology Areas and Tribes, providing transparency on priorities to ensure customer outcomes are delivered on time
Negotiate release schedule across platforms to present the best outcome for the customer and ANZ
Oversee the approval and management of deployment activities into production, e.g. code deployment, via representation to the Tribe Change Forum
Establish the delivery of governance, transition and approval of artefacts and processes, to enable a release to progress as planned. And feed that into the Tribe Change forum and production support
Develop, implement and leverage an Agile Release Train where required, to enable a cadenced delivery regime for the tribe to use
Co-ordinate and execute release activities in-squad, across squads, and at times, across tribes
Help squads to co-ordinate the completion of post-production verification activities
Establish and co-ordinate tribe-external engagements, for the purposes of release delivery
Communicate release delivery plans to stakeholders
What will you bring?

We know not everyone will bring all of the skills and experience, and at ANZ we are focused on people bringing a growth mindset to their approach to work. Some of the skills we are looking for are below, but don’t worry if you don’t have all of these as learning on the job is the way we work.
But back to some of the skills
- Experience in scheduling work to optimise workflow/throughput through a number of Technology Areas to maintain velocity and team cadence
Dev-ops understanding (CI/CD Pipeline). Experience in common tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Service Now etc.
Exceptional stakeholder management experience
An understanding of the release process and how it’s applied across squads/tribes
Able to understand technology principles and tools, to effectively provision and co-ordinate complex interdependencies as they are expressed in installations and implementations
Knowledge and experience with cross-platform/cross tribe integration testing
Ability to coordinate end to end delivery across multiple technology areas
Keen eye to identify dependencies and risks and come up with mitigations plans accordingly
So, why join us?

Our purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive. That's why we strive to create balanced, sustainable economy in which everyone can take part and build a better life. By helping people make the most of what they have, we transform ideas, hard work and ambition into reality.

Career development means different things to different people. It may simply mean developing a skill, broadening your experience by moving sideways or stretching yourself by moving to a different business. How you manage and develop your career is up to you, but ANZ is committed to helping you do this by providing you with the support, tools and resources you need.
