**About the Opportunity**

With Metcash’s commitment to prioritising the adoption of AI as a critical enabler to our overall success, our executive leadership have endorsed this new role to support the acceleration of AI across our business and functions.
With our current AI capabilities at an emerging level, the AI Lead will be responsible for leveraging AI to deliver business performance, and establishing a more disciplined approach in optimising our AI opportunities.

**In this Role**
- Executive Relations: Serve as an executive advisor to the Group CIO and the AI Work Group.
- AI Adoption Focus: Lead efforts to drive AI adoption across Metcash, working closely with the business.
- Identify AI Opportunities: Collaborate with the business to find opportunities where AI can enhance performance.
- Develop Use Cases: Assist in creating AI use cases with performance metrics to justify investment in AI.
- Facilitate AI Implementation: Oversee the execution of AI use cases in collaboration with IT and business teams.
- Report on AI Outcomes: Evaluate AI implementation results and provide recommendations for next steps (pause, pivot, or extend).
- AI Capability Building: Work with the AI Working Group and PC to identify and develop AI champions and super users.
- AI Skills Uplift: Partner with PC to design and implement a program that enhances AI skills through training materials and curriculum.
- Expand AI User Group: Create a broad-based AI user group to accelerate AI adoption throughout Metcash.
- Stay Informed on AI Developments: Keep Metcash up to date with the latest AI advancements, particularly in supply chain, logistics, and retail.
- Collaborate with Tech Partners: Work with technology partners to align their AI roadmaps with Metcash’s platform needs and future plans.
- AI Governance Frameworks: Develop AI governance frameworks in collaboration with teams such as Legal, Risk, and Compliance, and ensure progress is reported to appropriate forums.

**You’re Likely a Match If**
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in Commerce, Technology or Engineering domains
- Solid experience (+5 years) with various AI technologies (CoPilot, Open AI, ChatGPT, Azure etc.)
- IT Leadership experience within AI, data & analytics, Cloud, IT delivery or IT operating models
- Demonstrated success in supporting organisations with AI adoption with strong commercial acumen
- Experience in working with AI vendors
- Influential communicator - ability to convey AI concepts to non-technical audiences at all levels
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
- High level attention to detail and critical thinking
- Outcomes focussed, innovative and ability to work with ambiguity
