Optus & AI
At Optus, our vision is to become Australia’s most loved everyday brand with lasting customer relationships. For decades we’ve said yes when others have said no. This optimistic challenger spirit makes us who we are today.
We’ve been using AI to improve the lives of our customers for almost ten years. From understanding the root cause of customer issues and proactively resolving them, to using it to inform our investment decisions, AI is embedded into what we do.
With new cutting-edge tech at our fingertips, exciting partnerships under our belt and around every corner (Google and Samsung to name a couple), and a growing collective of talented people, we’re taking AI at Optus to the next level.
We’re bringing together the most curious-minded people to solve real problems, connect Australians like never before, and help shape the future of Optus while we’re at it. And your future too. We’re already on our way, and ahead of lots of the competition. Now’s the time to go bigger than ever.
This is no ‘quick win’ - we’re in this for the long haul because we know the positive impact it can make on our customers, communities and colleagues. We’re committed to doing it responsibly and ethically and we want you to be a part of it. You’re invited to join the Optus AI division.
**Big opportunities. Bold leadership.**
As the Associate Director, AI Change and Adoption at Optus, you’ll lead the end-to-end strategy for embedding AI across the organisation, driving engagement, literacy, and capability building at every level. Collaborating with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, you’ll act as a key ambassador and Subject Matter Expert, shaping Optus’ AI adoption journey - ensuring the seamless integration of AI technologies and empowering teams to embrace innovation and create lasting value for the business.
**Your day to day will consist of...**
- Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive change management approach to drive AI adoption across Optus, ensuring alignment with the company’s AI vision and goals
- Oversee the portfolio of AI adoption activities in partnership with teams across Optus, reporting progress and commercial impact to senior leadership
- Develop and execute tailored implementation strategies for AI initiatives, addressing diverse employee personas and mitigating barriers to adoption
- Define and measure metrics to assess AI adoption success and organisational readiness, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
- Plan and host AI-focused events, such as hackathons, to build awareness, confidence, and enthusiasm for AI while attracting external talent
**What makes you perfect for the role?**
- Proven experience in leading change management, engagement, and communications strategies in large, complex organisations undergoing significant transformation
- Expertise in AI concepts, trends, and technologies, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex topics into actionable strategies and impactful communications
- Exceptional skills in content development, including writing, editing, and storytelling, tailored for diverse internal and external audiences
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with the ability to influence without direct authority and effectively engage senior stakeholders
- Experience managing large-scale events, campaigns, and initiatives, such as literacy programs and executive briefings, to drive organisational engagement and alignment
- Outstanding organisational and project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple complex initiatives across geographically dispersed teams
**Optus is a place where we let you do you. We offer a range of benefits including**:
- 3 days in the office, 2 days remote - with flexible hours to suit
- Inclusive paid parental leave with up to 14 weeks for the primary care giver
- All Optus employees have access to resources, webinars and support via the ‘Parents at Work portal’
