We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Google Cloud Lead Engineer to join the Google Cloud Practice in DXC
This role will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of cloud-native systems on Google Cloud Platform, including GCP AI/ML services, Cloud Operations, and Core Infrastructure Services. The successful candidate will specialize in developing implementation and migration strategies for existing and new applications to Google Cloud, while leading DevOps transformation initiatives.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead cloud engineering initiatives and complex migration projects, ensuring project success and delivery excellence
- Design and implement scalable cloud solutions using GCP best practices and Well-Architected Framework principles
- Develop and standardize internal DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for deployment across customer environments
- Lead, guide and mentor DevOps team members and junior engineers
- Drive cloud training programs and GCP certification initiatives across the team
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex cloud infrastructure and application issues
- Stay current with Google Cloud technology updates, new services, and industry trends
- Provide effective team leadership, resource allocation, and project management
- Deliver customer presentations, technical demonstrations, and solution architecture sessions
- Establish DevOps culture and best practices within client organizations
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering and DevOps practices, with 3+ years specifically in leadership roles
- Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform services including:
- Compute Engine, GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), Cloud Run
- Vertex AI, AI Platform, and other GCP AI/ML services
- Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy, and GCP CI/CD tools
- API development and integration experience with enterprise applications (Salesforce, SAP, etc.)
- Strong background in both frontend and backend development methodologies
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages: Python, Go, Java, or
- Advanced skills in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Google Cloud Deployment Manager
- Expertise with GCP-native deployment pipelines (Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy, Artifact Registry)
- Experience with Git-based workflows (GitHub, GitLab, Cloud Source Repositories)
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus)
- Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and team collaboration abilities
- Relevant Google Cloud certifications required:
- Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer (required)
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect (preferred)
- Additional GCP specialty certifications (Machine Learning Engineer, Security Engineer) a plus
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments is advantageous
