Government organisation in Colac is looking to recruit a HSW BP for 6 - 8 weeks
Your new role
This role will develop new Work Health & Safety documents and programs to support Business Unit safety plans and strategies.

Responsibilities will include ensuring that the organisation:

- Promotes the highest standard of safety culture across all workplaces
- Has compliance, oversight and actions that are proactive and responsive to its safety obligations
- Builds capability across key stakeholders to implement and embed health and safety processes and programs and a culture of workplace health and safety.
- Enhance personal accountability for safety amongst managers and leaders through influencing, supporting, coaching and mentoring.
- Is supported with sound and practical policies and procedures to support the health and safety, wellbeing and injury management functions
- Applies strategic and operational risk management methodologies
- Complies with and understands its obligations under all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and best practice, including WorkCover and injury management
- Has programs to enhance employee wellbeing, safety and injury management

To be considered for this role, you will have:

- Tertiary qualification and equivalent experience in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working in a role that provides advice and guidance on workplace health and safety, injury management and employee wellbeing.
- Experience in the implementation and maintenance of effective and robust safety management systems.
- Return to work/injury management experience
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to gain the cooperation of staff at all levels across the organisation, members of the public and other professionals.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers and business associates.
- Proficiency in understanding, interpreting and providing advice on relevant legislation, policy, guidelines and insurance matters.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet agreed outcomes and timelines with mínimal supervision.

What you'll get in return

This role offers you an attractive hourly rate of $57.58 plus super, full-time hours and an initial 6-8-week assignment with the possibility of an extension. This organisation is open to negotiation regarding flexibility to work from home.
