**About the role**
Reporting to the Managing Director and forming part of the executive leadership team, the General Manager Corporate Affairs and Sustainability is a trusted business advisor responsible for the full range of strategic communications activities including leadership and strategic direction of corporate affairs and sustainability, indigenous affairs and community partnerships. The position will develop and manage the sustainability portfolio relating to team members, shareholders and customers, the environment, Governments, NGOs and communities within which the organisation operates. This includes areas such as human rights, raw materials, energy and environment and reporting. Working closely with the Managing Director and executive team, the appointee will develop and implement internal and external communications and reputation strategies that are aligned with business goals. The role is key to the effective positioning of the business to all stakeholders including customers, team members, Government, Business Analysts, media and the community.
**About you**
You are a proven corporate affairs and sustainability leader, with experience in large complex global organisations with diverse stakeholders. Your skills leading internal and external communications including reputation and crisis management and a complex sustainability portfolio, are underpinned by your experience operating at Managing Director, Board and senior management levels. You have highly developed leadership, influencing and analysis skills combined with political, environmental and community awareness. This includes geopolitical understanding particularly in the sub-continent, Asia and Pacific regions. Passionate and energetic, you are humble, truly collaborative and have the ability to inspire and build high performing teams and trusted relationships. A strategic approach to corporate affairs and forward-looking communications planning are integral to your success in achieving meaningful outcomes in this critical portfolio.
