The Income Support Branch (ISB) is one of five branches that operate under the umbrella of the CBD. It provides a quality and timely service to eligible veterans and their families to ensure an appropriate level of income support. It delivers the Government’s social policy and support agenda through the administration of various means-tested benefits and allowances.

The role of the Team Leader is to guide, support, manage and lead staff to deliver business outcomes. The Team Leader manages the workload of the team and ensures it is kept informed, is meeting performance expectations and is supported from a HR and people management perspective. They are responsible for overseeing all the activities of the team and developing strategies on how to meet performance targets.

**Duties**
- Provide leadership and people management capabilities. Tasks will include, but are not limited to:

- Providing coaching and feedback sessions with staff
- Addressing and appropriately managing performance issues
- Managing attendance and leave requests
- Monitoring workplace behaviours
- Monitoring compliance to telephony schedule and standards
- Monitor workload and performance of the team and individuals to ensure that performance targets are met.
- Identify systemic issues impacting the team and strategies to address them.
- Conduct research or analysis on complex matters.
- Identify skill gaps of staff and organise training as required.
- Contribute to the management and creation of procedural support documents.
- Provide input to Ministerial briefs and request for information as required.
- Investigate complaints and where required instigate remedial action.

This recruitment process is being used to fill ongoing and non-ongoing positions.

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for a specified term of up to 18 months. A specified term may be extended up to a maximum period of 3 years.
