**The Opportunity**
We have an opportunity for a Manager, Logistics and Monitoring to be part of our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The Manager, Logistics & Monitoring contributes to ensuring that South Australia remains compliant with the _Plant Health Act 2009_ and the Plant Quarantine Standard SA, by providing expertise and leadership for the coordination, reporting, development and strategic management of fruit fly monitoring and state quarantine bin programs and projects, and associated policies, procedures, budgets and performance standards. In this capacity the position has responsibility for managing the existing and expanding state-wide quality evaluation and monitoring system for, and the management of the key risks and in doing so, coordinating and delivering a range of monitoring, logístical and maintenance functions for the Plant Biosecurity Operations Program. This includes implementing and maintaining nationally developed protocols which provides access for SA produce to interstate and international markets.
The position also manages the development, implementation and review of relevant policies, procedures, budgets and performance standards, and ensures the requirements of the _Plant Health Act, 2009_, Plant Quarantine Standard South Australia and Australia’s National Fruit Fly Management Protocols are met. The Manager, Logistics & Monitoring is responsible for managing and developing a range of significant resources, staff, and infrastructure, including being responsible for the integrity and maintenance of the Plant Biosecurity Operations Monitoring and Detection Manual to ensure alignment with national protocols to provide direction to the Plant Biosecurity Operations fruit fly monitoring program staff including auditing and training requirements.
The position also maintains collaborative networks with stakeholders within Biosecurity and PIRSA, and with other government agencies, importers, exporters, industry and community organisations. The Manager, Logistics & Monitoring plays a key role in supporting the conduct of regular federal Department of Agriculture Fisheries & Forestry audits of trapping, monitoring, and reporting activities in Adelaide & surrounds, the Riverland, Riverland extension and Mypolonga, Port Lincoln, Port Augusta and Ceduna. The audits are carried out against Australia’s National Fruit Fly Management Protocol and the Plant Biosecurity Operations Monitoring and Detection Manual required to give international certification for area freedom in accordance with International Plant Protection Convention. The position is a key contributor to Biosecurity’s emergency response capability in the area of logistics and operations.

**Requirements**:

**Remuneration**
ASO5 - $85,790 min - $95,413 max per annum, plus superannuation
