**About the Project**

Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.

John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7 kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.

Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education, and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast’s expected population growth in the coming decades.

**About the Role**

With the construction phase ramping up our logistics team on GCLR are now recruiting for a Material Controller. The Material Controller is responsible for the execution of Materials Management activities associated with yard and in-field supply chain activities for the Project.

Key responsibilities are to work with the Senior Materials Coordinator and Yard team to ensure successful supply of all materials and equipment, including ensuring yard & stores administrative functions are implemented and maintained.

**Key accountabilities will include**
- Supporting the project team to ensure materials availability is in line with Construction schedule requirements
- Create & maintain Item Master records in the Asset Inventory System (Maximo)
- Upload purchase orders into Maximo using Excel Template
- Receipt materials / equipment in Maximo, maintain up-to-date files of all material receipts and associated documentation, such as packing lists and delivery notes
- Ensure materials and equipment are identified, marked, and stored appropriately to allow for safe and timely retrieval and issue/distribution
- Perform physical inventories, update MAXIMO, and report any discrepancies to the Senior Materials Coordinator and provide recommendations for corrective actions
- Ensure that accurate information reporting from MAXIMO is available in SharePoint
- Maintain project filing and database systems, store information accurately in SharePoint
- Assist in distribution of communications between freight companies, project construction team and laydown personnel
- Perform all duties in accordance with JH policies, processes, reporting, systems, and procedures

**To be successful in this key role, you must have**
- Previous experience using an automated inventory management/ERP system (preferably Maximo, but not essential) within a construction project environment
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, within the construction sector - Tier 1 company
- Intermediate computer skills (Excel)
- Intermediate accounting knowledge
- Project administration and document management practices
- Experience with Asset Inventory System (Maximo) highly desirable
- Diploma or Certificate level in ERP Supply Chain Management
