Real Community Services was established in January 2006 and now provides thousands of personal support hours per week to hundreds of people with a disability such as mental health, acquired brain injury or neurological conditions by focusing on empowering and improving their lifestyles.

**The Role**

Expressions of interest for Casual Disability Support Worker in the Redland region. We are looking for disability support workers that are passionate about working in our industry to continue this success. You will be part of a dynamic team that delivers genuine support in all domains of life, to enable access to quality of life with dignity, respect, and social inclusion.

Your role will involve supporting a nonverbal participant in their 60s to access the community. Experience with the use of a wheelchair is essential.

**About You**

You are reliable with a good work ethic. You pride yourself on providing personal care with dignity and respect. You understand the importance of providing individualised support within a home environment. Can adapt to different situations? Think outside the box to solve problems? Mature and patience with a positive attitude.

You are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 9am - 2pm shift.

**Your skills and experience include**:

- Prior experience supporting clients living with disability is highly desirable
- Relevant nationally recognised qualification highly desirable
- Comfortable to provide
- Experience in mental health and dementia
- Must have a Queensland driver's licence and own reliable transport
- Current Paid employee Blue Card (or willing to obtain before employment)
- Current Paid employee Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Clearance (or willing to obtain before employment)
- Current First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain before employment)
- NDIS 'Worker Orientation' module (or willing to obtain before employment)
- COVID 19 Infection Control certificate (or willing to obtain before employment)
- Full Australian working rights
- Smart phone with internet access
- Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (2 doses required)
- Two current (within the past 2 years) professional references from a supervisor will be required

- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Public holidays
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Redlands QLD: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- National Police Certificate (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)
