What is the role?

The AFP is looking for highly motivated, skilled, enthusiastic and customer focused individuals to meet current and anticipated ongoing vacancies within the ICT Support team (nationally):
ICT Support
Service Desk (Help Desk)
Tech Lounge (Drop-in technical support)
Executive Support (VIP)
Sensitive Network Support.

**Note**: Please be aware that the Band 4 role will be assessed on a higher level of technical skills and demonstrated experience than what is expected of a Band 3 role.

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

ICT Support is the primary point of engagement for all IT enquiries, management of incidents and service requests from users of AFP ICT both nationally and internationally. The support team plays a pivotal role in facilitating the link between business and the AFP ICT organisation.

As the ‘Front Door’ to AFP ICT, the team supports AFP and external network users, corporate devices, software, Executive Support (VIP) service and Tech Lounges (The Tech Lounge provides dedicated, customer-centric on-site support that provide users with a drop-in facility). The team also handles communications for things such as outages and planned changes to IT services. Additionally, ICT Support staff assist with the implementation and support of AFP projects nationally.

Essential Requirements

Must be an Australian Citizen.
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels; either face to face, telephone, video, within a group or in writing.
Problem solving skills to be able to investigate and resolve client issues.
Proficient organisational skills with the ability to multi task
Experience in working effectively within a team environment and collaborating with others.
Desirable Requirements

The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
Minimum of one years’ experience (Band 3) and minimum two years’ experience (Band 4) in a like or related field
Formal IT qualification from a recognised tertiary institution or extensive demonstrated equivalent skills and experience
Windows 10 desktop administration
Microsoft systems and tools (including Windows, Active Directory, SCCM, M365 including MS Office, Exchange and Teams)
Scripting and automation.
