The Specialist, Management Accounting is a key member of the Finance within Strategic Planning, Finance and Performance Branch. This role will work closely with the Director of Finance to deliver high quality enabling services to AUSTRAC specifically related to management accounting and financial accounting. The role is critical in ensuring we are in strict accordance with legislative, corporate governance and strategic business objectives.

The Specialist, Management Accounting is primarily concerned with internal budgeting and periodic forecasting. These functions include operating and capital expenditures, providing input into the development of financial and budget strategies, analysis of revenue and funding streams, project and output costing, internal management reporting and forecasting, and reporting tools.

Internal budget management encompasses operating and capital expenditures for each branch. The internal budget process is fully integrated within AUSTRAC’s FMIS and the budget cycle must operate in accordance with the Government’s policy framework and external budget timeframes. This position also includes revenue and cost management and reporting on the results of all project management activities.

Cost estimates are required to support new project proposals, other projects funded by external agencies and other outputs as determined.
